A project groups a site, its repository, its tasks and its flows, so that a task always has somewhere to belong and the extension knows which repository it is working in.

Importing from GitHub brings a repository in with its metadata. Repositories you collaborate on are included, not only ones you own — for most people, most of their work is on repositories they do not own.

Switching projects changes what the extensions see. A task created in the browser panel lands in the project you have selected, so check it before capturing if you work across several.

Scopes. Access to private repositories is requested at the moment you first import one, not bundled into sign-in. If you only ever import public repositories, FlowKy never asks for private access.
